Yes I have finally finished my crocheted shawl that I’ve mentioned on here before.
This was made with Noro’s Silk Garden Lite yarn, comprised of wool, mohair and silk fibres, following the free pattern on Hobbii.
Here is me proudly wearing it:

I really enjoyed making those pompoms. I got into a really good rhythm with them. I crocheted this in the park during my lunchbreaks, at the bus stop after work, at home and at the library!
Here is what it looks like all spread out. Advent calendar is for scale. Other advent calendars are available. Do you have one?

I’m proud of it, wish I could say the same about my Zandra Rhodes socks but I’m doing pretty poor on those. The pattern I chose to use the yarn on is really hard, so many ssks and k2 p3 and YOs, arrgghhh! Anyone know any easy peasy sock knitting patterns? On circular needles because I am hopeless with DPNs! It’s a good job these are for me and not a Christmas present!
But at least I’m happy with my shawl. I almost feel like I could herd some alpacas 🙂
With all this yarn work I have really neglected my cross stitch, so I must get back to that now. Speak soon!
You need a vanilla sock pattern. You should only have ssks on the toes if you are doing cuff down and yo’s if you are doing toe up. I love the Fish Lip Kiss Heel. For me it is easier than wrap and turn heels and I hate picking up stitches for heel flap heels. I believe Andrea Mowry had a vanilla sock pattern. Also the Crazy Sock Lady has a vanilla sock pattern. I haven’t knit them as vanilla means simply knit stockinette once you have a toe method and a heel method.
