I’ve started knitting Christmas presents. I know it’s early but I am a verrrry slow worker!
I’m also really excited because I’ve gone on a massive knitting/crochet shopping spree. Here is a photo of what I got off eBay for a fiver, plus my current knitting project (Mr. Happy kit from a knitting mag):

It’s the Beatrix Potter Knitting Book by Pat Menchini! I am so happy because I’ve wanted this for ages. I’m a big fan of Beatrix Potter. I even visited her Hill Top House in the Lake District 2 and a half years ago. Did you know she was a very accomplished needlewoman? Her embroidery and patchwork is on display there. She also spun the wool from her own sheep, and there is a delightful spinning wheel in her front room.
Here is a peek inside the book:

Isn’t that jumper and just the whole photo fun?
I am also planning to do some major knitting and crochet projects for my own wardrobe. The Athena Sweater, and a pompom cowl shawl, both free patterns from Hobbii. They will both be challenges as I will be using circular needles for the first time for the sweater, and they are very large! I will also have to knit with 2 strands which can be tricky. And for the shawl I will be using Noro Silk Garden yarn, which is not the easiest to knit with but it’s beautiful.
So the patterns for those were free but I did have to buy the yarn, plus the circular needles which were about £20. I will post a pic of those beasts when I get them!
